Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 July 2026

Prod-AI (“Prod-AI”, “we”, “us”) is a mobile app that reads product labels and gives you a personalized health read. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We wrote it to match how the app actually works, in plain language.

The short version. We collect the account details you give us, the health preferences you set, and the scans you run. We use them only to run the app for you. We show no ads and use no third-party analytics or advertising trackers. You can delete everything at any time from inside the app.

1. Who we are

Prod-AI is operated by Betterus. If you have any question about this policy or your data, contact us at helpprodai@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

3. How your camera and photos are used

The camera and photo-library permissions exist for one purpose: to capture or select a product label to scan. Images are used to read the label and are not scanned for any other content. You can decline these permissions and still browse the app; you just won’t be able to run a scan.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We share the minimum necessary with a small number of service providers who process it on our behalf:

ProviderWhat they receivePurpose
SupabaseYour account, preferences, scan history, and label photos.Authentication, database, and file storage (our backend).
Google (Gemini API)Only the label photo. We do not send your name, email, or health preferences. To read (OCR) the text on a label when a product isn’t found by barcode. Google acts as a sub-processor.

We never send your health preferences (allergies, ingredients to avoid) to Google, RevenueCat, or Apple. Prod-AI contains no advertising SDKs and no cross-app tracking: we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and your health and allergy data is never used for advertising or sold to anyone.

Each provider processes data under its own terms and security practices. We may also disclose data if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and service.

5. How your data is protected

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account, preferences, and scans for as long as your account exists, so your history is there when you come back. When you delete your account, your profile, scans, and stored label photos are permanently removed. Cached public product data (keyed only to a barcode, with no link to you) may be retained to speed up future lookups.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as data access, portability, or objection under the GDPR, or the rights afforded under the CCPA). To exercise any of them, email helpprodai@gmail.com.

8. Children

Prod-AI is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

Our providers may process and store data on servers located outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10. Subscriptions and payments

Prod-AI Premium is an auto-renewable subscription. Payment is processed by Apple through your App Store account — we never see or store your card details. We use RevenueCat to validate and keep your subscription status in sync across your devices, which involves a user identifier and your purchase state, but no health data. Subscription pricing, renewal, and cancellation are covered in our Terms of Use.

11. Not medical advice

Prod-AI provides general wellness information derived from product labels and public databases. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for professional guidance or the physical product label. Always verify allergen information on the packaging itself.

12. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.

13. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of Italy, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are in the EU, the GDPR applies to the processing of your personal data, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
